Weeklong Amrit Mahotsav Yatra Flagoff Celebrated with Devotion and Community Spirit in Seattle

Seattle, WA — Chinmaya Mission Seattle marked a joyous and spiritually enriching start to its Weeklong Amrit Mahotsav Yatra Flagoff with a series of thoughtfully curated events at the Chinmaya Dwaraka Ashram, bringing together devotees of all ages from across the Greater Seattle area.

Day 1 (Jan 5th, 2026) – Chant to Enchant

The celebrations opened on Monday, January 5, with sacred chanting that filled the Ashram with divine vibrations. Bala Vihar children played a central role in the Chant to Enchant program, inspiring the community with their confident and heartfelt recitations.

Day 2 (Jan 6th, 2026) – Mega Fun Game Night

Day 2 featured a lively Mega Fun Game Night, organized by the Chinmaya Yuva Kendra (CHYK). Families enjoyed creatively designed games based on Sanatana Dharma that fostered teamwork, sportsmanship, and joy, highlighting the leadership and service spirit of the youth.

Day 3 (Jan 7th, 2026) – Kahani Corner

On Day 3, adults were deeply moved by an insightful Q&A session with Ruditeji Emir, co-author and editor of Self Unfoldment, who shared personal stories of Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda. Simultaneously, children engaged in Ramayana story time, culminating in an impromptu skit on Lord Hanuman.

Day 4 (Jan 8th, 2026) – Mananam, Book Reflection

Day 4 centered on Mananam, a reflective group study of “An Altar in Life Alters Your Life” by Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayananda, sparking thoughtful discussions, self-inquiry, and shared inspiration.

Day 5 (Jan 9th, 2026) – Pizza and Movie Night

The community gathered again on Day 5 for a family movie night featuring “On a Quest”, the acclaimed biopic of Pujya Gurudev. Interactive quizzes encouraged reflection and conversation, extending the learning beyond the screening.

Day 6 (Jan 10th, 2026) – Art Festival, Bhajan Clubbing

Day 6 unfolded as a vibrant cultural celebration with the Chinmaya Kala Art Festival, showcasing stunning works by local artists and a children’s art competition that highlighted the creativity and devotion of young participants. Adding to the richness of the day was a Kolam Workshop by a local expert, where participants learned this traditional sacred art form symbolizing harmony, mindfulness, and auspicious beginnings. The evening continued with energizing Bhajan Clubbing led by Seattle-based Desi rock band RimJhim, joyfully blending devotion with contemporary musical expression.

Day 7 (Jan 11th, 2026) – Guru Paduka Puja and offering of Gratitude

The final day, Day 7, brought the weeklong celebrations to a deeply reverential close with a Guru Paduka Puja, as devotees gathered in gratitude and surrendered at the feet of Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda. The serene ceremony served as a powerful culmination of the Amrit Mahotsav Yatra, anchoring the week’s joy, learning, and togetherness in humility, devotion, and spiritual resolve.

Together, the week’s events reflected Chinmaya Mission’s enduring values of spiritual growth, community bonding, cultural celebration, and reverence for the Guru tradition, making the Amrit Mahotsav Yatra Flagoff a truly memorable and uplifting experience for the Seattle community.
