January 12, 2026 –  Chinmaya Rameshwaram
Insights were shared by members of the CHYK who reflected on Pujya Gurudev’s teachings. Reflecting on Bhagavad Gita Chapter 2, Verse 66, one youth shared how Gurudev’s explanation brought profound clarity to his own daily struggles with distraction. Gurudev often emphasized that peace and clarity are not accidental states but the result of consistent inner discipline and awareness.

Drawing from Bhagavad Gita Chapter 2, Verse 61, another participant reflected on the importance of maintaining inner balance when faced with uncertainty. Her reflection echoed Pujya Gurudev’s teachings on Karma Yoga: performing actions with dedication while releasing anxiety over outcomes. Pujya Gurudev frequently reminded seekers that when effort is sincere and ego is minimized; action itself becomes a path to inner growth.

These youth reflections vividly illustrated Pujya Gurudev’s vision for young seekers to live engaged and balanced lives. At CMLA, participants noted, through the various activities it was possible for all to learn that seva and svādhyāya go hand in hand, transforming knowledge into lived wisdom.

January 13 – South Bay Chapter
The South Bay Chinmaya community began the Amrit Yatra with a screening of ‘On A Quest,’ the landmark film depicting the extraordinary life of Pujya Gurudev. Chapter families participated in a lively discussion, exploring Gurudev’s journey from atheist, journalist, and freedom fighter to enlightened teacher. Favorite moments included Gurudev’s shared memorable analogies, such as the “chewing gum” metaphor and the role of God as the petrol in a car. The session concluded with a fun and engaging online quiz prepared by a Bala Vihar student, reinforcing key learnings and leaving participants reflective and appreciative.

January 14 – Brea Chapter
Using the Amar Chitra Katha as the anchor, participants reflected on the life of Pujya Gurudev through an engaging retelling led by Yuvakendra students and Bala Vihar teachers. The interactive session invited both children and adults to participate through thoughtful questions and discussion. A Jeopardy-style game generated enthusiastic involvement and meaningful dialog, especially around philosophical prompts such as “Man minus ego = ?” and “Happiness = ?”. The evening concluded with reflective sharing and a thought-provoking video, leaving a lasting imprint of Pujya Gurudev’s message.

January 15 – Redlands Chapter
The community came together for an immersive exploration of Gurudev’s teachings. Participants were divided into teams, each studying a short discourse by Gurudev and presenting reflections, insights, and fun quizzes. Themes included ‘The Story of Miss Electricity!’ an allegorical look at the power of the Self, ‘Where is your Mind?’ on focus and clarity, along with reflections on knowledge, the mind, and dharma. The interactive format made the wisdom accessible and engaging.

January 16 – Chinmaya Rameshwaram
Study group students from across Southern California gathered at Chinmaya Rameshwaram for reflection on ‘Gita Panchamrit,’ the five verses selected by Pujya Swami Swaroopananda for the daily sadhana of every Hindu. Led by Sri Mahadevanji, participants settled into five groups, each reflecting on one of the selected verses that capture the essence of the Bhagavad Gita. Animated discussions followed, with speakers sharing insights for all to benefit, highlighting what we as seekers can do and what Bhagavan showers the devotee with in return. The relevance of the holy scripture in daily life was made abundant.

January 17 – Chinmaya Rameshwaram
The day began early with pujas and homas. Mid-morning saw a reverent procession welcoming Pujya Gurudev’s Padukas to a specially set-up altar, accompanied by Chandi music. Swami Ishwarananda ceremonially lifted the Padukas from a ratha and placed them on the altar, and with his obeisances to the great visionary, a deeply sacred tone was set. A Shodasa Upachara Puja, performed by CMLA youth under the guidance of an adult puja volunteer, followed. The atmosphere was further enriched by heartfelt offerings of devotional music by Swaranjali, including a composition of Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayananda, chanting by Shlokanjali, and delightful renditions by the children of Shruti. The celebrations concluded with arati and mahaprasad, as devotees warmly mingled, shared memories, and reflected on their connection to CMLA and the timeless teachings of Chinmaya Mission. The day held added significance, marking the 17th anniversary of Chinmaya Rameshwaram and 30 years of CMLA!

January 18 – Chinmaya Rameshwaram
The Chinmaya Amrit Yatra concluded with a trendy Bhajan Clubbing session led by Aks & Lakshmi. Blending traditional devotional chants with modern rhythms, the evening created an atmosphere of spirited devotion and celebration. It was a delight to watch participants of all ages, from the littlest Bala Vihar children to long-time members of the community, singing, swaying, and fully immersed in the experience. Even typically reserved attendees let go with abandon, reveling in the musical chants of the Lord and Guru, while Br. Sandhyaji joined the children in dance, adding to the warmth and spontaneity of the moment.

The session brought the week-long Yatra to a memorable and uplifting close, leaving hearts deeply touched and fulfilled.
