This event is a Guiness World Record Attempt By Chinmaya Mission for Most people chanting online simultaneously (Target: 108,000 participants) – Group Chanting of  CHAPTER 15 – Puruṣhottama Yoga 

  • Celebrate the 75 years of Chinmaya Movement (Amrit Mahotsav)
  • Make the world aware of the amazing contribution of Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda in bringing the scriptures to the masses.
  • Increase awareness of the various activities of Chinmaya Mission and its achievements in the last 75 years.
  • Spread the awareness of the Holy Gita through this Samasthi chanting event
  • This will be a catalyst for local events at all centers of Chinmaya Mission to learn and spread the message of the Holy Gita

  • Registration form will be sent to all Centers of Chinmaya Mission Globally
  • Each chanter will have their own Webex link for chanting (needed to break the record)
  • There will be a registration fee for all chanters to participate to ensure we have the requisite number of chanters to break the record
  • Each chanter will receive a certificate for breaking the World Record

  • All participants must chant together in the same tone.
  • The participants must be well versed in the action of chanting.
  • A loud start signal, recognised by all participants must be used.
  • The chanting must last a minimum of 5 minutes.
  • If someone fails to chant for the entire 5 minutes, they must be deducted from the final total.
  • Any participant who begins chanting before the official attempt start time must be discounted from the final total.
  • The organizers can use a single platform or multiple different ones.
  • The chosen platform must be accessible to a mass audience.
  • The event must be synchronized so that it occurs simultaneously in all locations and time zones.
  • All participants must be grouped into individual video calls. There is no limit to the number of video calls used in an attempt.
  • Only one participant may appear in each video.
  • Before the official attempt start time, participants must start their video calls so that they are ready to perform the record action at the designated time.
  • Each video call group must have one person nominated to screen record their display.
  • The person nominated to record their screen, must start their recording that can display the exact, official atomic clock time, so that the time and date of each video call can be confirmed. This clock must be visible during the entire video call.
  • At the official attempt time, all participants must perform the action simultaneously with Video ON and audio unmuted.
  • Only participants who perform the action and are captured on the video call by the nominated screen recorder performing the action will count towards the final total.
  • The screen recorder can also be counted towards the final total as long as a video of themselves performing the action is part of the video call.
  • All the screen recordings must be compiled and the independent witnesses must review them all in order to verify that every participant counted in the logbook performs the appropriate action during their video call; discounting any who don’t, or whose videos do not clearly show the action being performed, or any videos where the time and date are not visible.

Registration Team
Manage registrations & onboarding of chanters.
Create team leads & regional coordinators to identify Meeting Hosts.
Administer the event dry runs, testing etc. with Meeting Hosts.
Provide certificates to all participants.

Outreach Team
Spread the word to all Chinmaya Mission Centers globally
Invite like minded organizations that can participate in the event.
Create a buzz around the event globally.

Training Team
Train Chanters to chant in the same tune
Practice sessions in preparation for the event

Technology Team
Coordinate with Webex to ensure smooth execution of record attempt
Manage the meeting sessions
Ensure all preparation is done to satisfy the needs of Guinness Records
